Creative Ceramics Retreat - Teens

with Emilie Parker

only 3 seats left

At this Los Angeles, California, 5 day workshop for adults and teens from 10 to 4 every day for a week, you'll have fun learning the pottery wheel, creativity, new techniques, field trips and building your skill.  You'll get as much practice time as you need to really learn and improve your skill -- unlimited coached wheel time every day for 5 days -- making plates, large bowls, altered wheel shapes.  Learning and practicing centering, pulling, collaring, shaping trimming, drying and recycling.   Mornings are spent working with teacher's help on wheel skill-building or learning the wheel for the first time.  A healthy and delicious lunch is included.  Afternoons include fun creative extensions of your skills such as creating a crackeled surface, wheel based scrifitto, throwing large using coils on the wheel.  We'll also be experiencing the Huberman creativity exercises, go on a field trip to the American Museum of Ceramic Arts, Santa Monica Beach, and a demo of throwing large by guest artist Zac Hould. The class size is limited to 6 teens and adults and each will have a wheel.  Transportation from within Monrovia is provided.   Call 240-350-8533 for more details.  The studio is open in the evenings for independent work until 9pm.  Tuesday evening is a sunset picnic and walk on Santa Monica Beach. Lodging, breakfast and dinner are not included.

Retreat starts the evening of June 23rd for a reception at 7pm.  Each day June 24th through the 28th it goes from 10am to 4pm.

Payment plan available: $200 deposit plus 1 payment of $648.00, paid monthly.
